Xiaomi Mi 3-Axis Shooting Stabilizer is a handheld device just like its competitors. That said, it can always be mounted on a tripod while shooting. It uses a set of high-precision acceleration sensors that offer real-time detection of the smartphone’s position. The Mi handheld Stabiliser comes with four shooting modes – horizontal, omnidirectional, locking and a vertical movement. Besides, it has a brushless motor that rotates the device 9 degrees to 30 degrees for a 207-degree rotation. This result in professional quality smooth slow motion videos. Xiaomi is also marketing its stabiliser as a premium selfie stick.
The Mi 3-Axis Shooting Stabilizer is made out of ABS and fibreglass materials. It is a compact device with a dimension of 266 x 53 x 43mm. That aside, the weight of 450 grammes make its comfortable to shoot for long hours in handheld mode. Powering, Xiaomi’s first handheld stabiliser is a 1,050mAH battery. This according to Xiaomi can last you up to 4 hours on a single charge. The stabiliser is now available for pre-orders on Xiaomi’s crowdfunding Mi Home portal for just 799 Yuan ($120/Rs 7,500 approx.) It, however, isn’t clear whether Xiaomi plans to bring it to its other international market including India. Just in case, it does it’s sure to make some buzz as it would then be one of the cheapest options in the market.
In other news, DJI today launched a more powerful three axis stabiliser in the form of the Ronin 2. The latest product from DJI apparently has more power and torque to handle larger and heavy-duty professional cameras. Apart from that is also an onboard GPS and new integrated touch screen. It is expected to go on sale via offline and online channels starting the second quarter of 2017.
